This policy explains what happens to data when you visit whatifbench.com. The short version: the site has no accounts, no newsletter, and no login, and the calculators run entirely in your browser.

What the calculators do with your input

Values you type or drag into a calculator are processed by JavaScript running on your own device. They are never transmitted to a server, stored, or logged. Closing the page discards them.

Information collected automatically

This site is served through Cloudflare, which processes technical data needed to deliver pages and to protect the site from abuse. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the time of the request. Cloudflare may set a cookie to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated traffic. This data is used for security and reliability, not to build a profile of you.

Fonts

Pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts. That request goes to Google's servers and carries your IP address and browser details, in the same way any request for a file does. Google states that it does not use Google Fonts requests to build advertising profiles. No cookie is set by this.

Advertising

This site does not currently show advertising. It is intended to carry advertising supplied by Google, including Google AdSense, and this section describes what happens when it does. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visitingGoogle Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising ataboutads.info.

Third-party advertising vendors operate under their own privacy policies. Google's is available atpolicies.google.com.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses them only for the security and advertising purposes described above. Every current browser lets you block or delete cookies through its settings. Blocking them will not affect the calculators, which do not depend on cookies.

Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis for processing technical data is legitimate interest in operating and securing the site. The legal basis for personalised advertising is your consent. Since the site does not yet show advertising, no consent notice is displayed; one will be shown, and will be changeable at any time, before any advertising cookie is set.

You have the right to request access to your personal data, correction or deletion of it, restriction of processing, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these, email contact@whatifbench.com.

If you are in California

Under the CCPA you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. This site does not sell personal information. To make a request, use the email address above.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact me and it will be removed.
